Happy Holidays From Hacienda Iguana Golf & Beach Club
Dear Iguana Friends, Fans, & Family,Lately, I have been receiving subtle hints like, "Hey, Ulrik, it is time for another post about Iguana!” I decided you are all past due for an update and a happy holiday wish from all of us at Iguana!
Many new events have been going on at Iguana and to bring you up to speed here are a few of the many wonderful creations going on...
1) The second batch of Turf is now taken roots and is well underway so we can play at least three holes by the end of January 2006. The second batch was seeded the week before thanks giving and we even had put our faithful lot owners to some hard manual labor...Poor Fish Captain and wife got a pretty good sun burn, but we sure appreciated there hard work and they were rewarded with a great BBQ dinner later that night accompanied with a few Ron con Coca's! Few political ideas were exchanged that night.... too tired, so we agreed to disagree a later date. Thank you guys!
2) The Iguana Nursery is officially in! Over 400 palms of differing kinds were purchased. Lemon trees, sweet lemon trees, orange trees, mango trees, avocado trees, and exotic papaya's will be planted throughout the project to not only beautify the area, but also stir up more wild life. By the way I was not fast enough with my camera this morning to catch a shot of the three wild duck now taking up residence on the big lake!
Marcos is the official caretaker of the nursery and he is quite proud of it.
3) The first "puente" (bridge) is being completed and it looks spectacular...It purpose is to go from the practice tees to the practice putting green. It can be seen down the fairway of hole #2.
4) One of our B-lot owners has begun to mark off the lot and anticipates construction to commence in January 2006. We wish him well as we are excited for more homes are coming soon at Iguana.
5) Finally, to tease the surfers out there...yeah today there was a bit of a swell at "Ponga Drop"; so I decided to throw in a couple of pictures for you. They were not bigger than head highs, but sure would be fun to be out there on a long board!
